A Helping Hand

A Girl's Backpack
With the economy being the way that it is,  employment being unstable and people struggling to provide basic needs, we are trying to find opportunities to teach Emily and Matt just how blessed we are.
The company that Dave is consulting for is participating in a outreach program called Operation Backpack.  You are given a school supply list for a child in a grade of your choosing and fill a backpack with the needed supplies.  The backpacks will be collected and then distributed to needy NYC children on their first day of school.
It was Emily who chose that our backpack be for a PreK/Kindergarten child. We later decided that it would be for a girl.
We are hoping that she will enjoy and get great use out of the items we have provided.

Back to Blogging

Ocean Grove, NJ
We have been having an awesome summer so far.  The last quarter of school was pretty rough.  A lot of work and tough!!  I was looking forward to summer break as much as the kids.

So, you've probably noticed that I stopped blogging for over 2 months.  Some of that was due to the busyness of school and then just trying to decided how much time I wanted to spend on social media.

Well, I've come up with an answer.  It seems that my fascination with Facebook has lessened and I have been able to pull back quite a bit from it.  I do feel that I've lost touch with family and keeping you informed as to what is happening with the kids - even though most of the time I'm unsure as to if the blog is even being read (hint!!! a comment every now and then would be nice).

This all being said I've decided to start the family blog again and I am also doing a blog for my crafting "business" ...... alwaysputtogether.blogspot.com.  This way I have one dedicated to family happenings and the other to my guilty pleasure of crafting.

So, this is a new day!!! I cannot promise a post a day but I do plan to be more consistent in keeping you all updated!

Saying our Vows
Last weekend, Dave and I participated in a couples conference at our church.  The conference began on Friday night with meetings and a dinner on Saturday.  Sunday evening the couples attending were able to participate in a vow renewal ceremony.  It is hard to believe that this October we will be married 17 years. We loved being able to say our vows again in front of Emily and Matt. It is a rededicating of our marriage and family to the will of God. An extra bonus was that Emily was asked to participate in the ceremony by being the flower girl.  She was so happy to be asked.
Our Flower Girl!

Kiss the Bride

My Guinea Pig Ate my Homework!

Got it!!

Yummy!!
The other day while doing homework Strawberry decided she was a little hungry.  She loves to nibble on many things....including the wooden legs of the toy chest and TV stand. I guess we shouldn't have been surprised when she took Emily's spelling practice paper and made a run for it under her cage. By the time we took it away from her, she had had a small appetizer.  LOL!!!

Time Has Passed

It is hard to believe that almost a month has passed since my last post. The month flew by in a flash. Life was busy with its normal happenings but I did have some additional responsibilities come into play. This year I was able to help with the play "The Jesus Story" that our church presents several weekends prior to Easter Sunday. I started with the rehearsal process on the 18th and was busy every weekend until Easter. I had a great time being a part of the small props crew.
I've also had several crafting jobs too!
This past week the kids had their spring break. It was strange for the kids and I not to be in Tennessee. We will be headed there after school ends.
So, now that things have settled down I will do my best to get back to blogging.
