We didn't want Dave's first day at his consulting job to go without some fanfare so the kid's and I went after school to get a few things for a small celebration. Each of the them gave him a card - Matt's was a birthday card where we crossed out the Birthday so it read "Happy First Day at Work". Emily's wrote how much she missed him and drew a picture of them dancing under falling hearts. We also got him the flowers but the best part was the small chocolate cream pie the kids chose for his celebratory dessert. Dave was able to be home in time to take them to AWANA, so we had our treat after.
Dave had a good first day. He was glad to be back working and using his brain - that is what he said. Please do continue to pray that God will provide a full time position that has benefits. We have benefits through his old company until mid-March but will need to do something for coverage until something does come through.
My first day without Dave was good day. I did miss him though!! The hardest part was getting back into the swing of doing homework with the kids while trying to get dinner made. I know it will all come together with time.....I could do without the homework part, but that isn't going to happen any time soon.
